Studio Applications

Sure, the heart of Mercury-UI for ASP is its fully programmatic COM DLLs, but the extent of its versatility does not stop there.

Included with each component is the Studio design-time application. These applications can be used as stand-alone applications providing a straight-forward way for developers to visually prototype, implement and maintain their controls, or even compile static client-side DHTML for use in any HTML based project.

On-the-fly Preview Window
The on-the-fly preview window uses Microsoft Internet Explorer to perform HTML rendering. The performance aspects of our component design makes it possible for us to instantaneously update the Preview window when you make changes.

State Files
Studio can save binary state files which can then be loaded by the component on the server, allowing even non-technical personnel to send changes to the site without editing any code.

Source Code Generator
Studio is not only useful for maintaining state files, it can also generate JScript and VBScript ASP source code that you can copy and paste into your projects for configuring the Mercury-UI objects.

Compile all DHTML into .js files
Studio can stand on its own as a useful web development tool with its ability to compile all of the generated client-side code into .js files. These files can then be used in any web project, regardless of server type or server APIs. In one project, you may find yourself using the COM DLLs to generate dynamic menus. In another project you may find that simply compiling .js files is the way to go. Either way, it's covered in Mercury-UI for ASP.
