PanelSet for ASP.NET
Version 1.1

PanelSet™ for ASP.NET
A .NET Assembly DLL that creates a matrix of resizable ASP.NET Splitters, Panels and other Multi-page DHTML objects that go well beyond the capabilities of an HTML Frameset, without any of the common Frameset architectural design problems.

ASP.NET 2.0 Callback (AJAX) Support
New in version 1.1 is the implementation of Callback support, allowing a developer to make an out-of-band update for the contents of a Panel in a modern browser.

Cross-Browser Support
Automatically detects and renders a tailored PanelSet layout for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 - 7, Netscape Navigator 6 - 8, Opera 7 - 9, Mozilla/Firefox 1 - 2, Safari 1 - 2 and Gecko-based browsers running on Windows, Mac and Linux.

DHTML Features
At the client, the run-time DHTML has many features and abilities. These are a few:

  • XHTML and HTML Compatibility - Can function within pages that are designed in either XHTML 1 and HTML 4.

  • Auto-Sizing Panels - Panels will automatically resize to fit the available browser window realestate. Panels can also be constrained to a specific size, perfect for tool bar or caption areas.

  • Splitter Resizable Panels - Splitters can allow a user to resize Panels using the mouse. Splitter positions can be retained between ASP.NET Postbacks.

  • Scrolling Content - The content within each Panel has the ability to be scrolled independant of other content. Scroll state can be retained between ASP.NET Postbacks.

  • Stackable/Multi-Page PanelSets - Within a PanelSet, the Panels can serve multi-page DHTML content, perfect for implementing tab or wizard-like interfaces. The displayed Panel state can be retained between ASP.NET Postbacks.

  • Nested PanelSets - Create an unlimited number of nested Horizontal, Vertical or Stackable PanelSets to meet your custom design goals.

  • Customized Splitter Appearance - PanelSet Splitters can have a customized look by specifying graphics, colors and/or borders.

  • Background Images - A background image can be displayed in a PanelSet or Panel, and even appear beneath multiple Panels without performing any image splicing.

  • External JavaScript Loading - An option to have PanelSet load its JavaScript from an external library, providing caching ability on the browser.
