Answer

The version numbers in our products have a close technical relationship to the changes made in each new release.

Format: - Major . Minor . Build . Type (Example: 7.0.112.1)

Major - When this number changes, the product may not be backward compatible to previous versions. The areas of broken compatibility could be major, such as new or redesigned objects. Or, the areas of broken compatibility could be minor, such as changes to default settings. When the product is one of our COM objects, a new DLL is created that is capable of running side-by-side with older version for migration and legacy purposes.

Minor - When this number changes, significant features have been added to the product. But, it still remains compatible with previous releases in the series. New features generally have to be turned on if they introduce behaviors that could be unwanted.

Build - When this number changes, it is because the release contains only bug fixes and minor enhancements. But, it still remains compatible with previous releases in the series. No other changes are required.

Type - This number is used to indicate the license type. A value of "0" indicates this is an evaluation version, and a value of "1" indicates this is a licensed version. The evaluation software can be downloaded by anyone visiting our web site. The licensed software can only be downloaded from a user account created after purchasing the software. IMPORTANT: Only the licensed software should be deployed in a production environment!
